Positive Vibes

Let’s face it, life is stressful. We spend our time worrying about everything, from our weight, to our kids, to our job, to the world and what effect we’re having on it. But on this show, Jackee Cahee tries her darndest to get us feeling better with positive, encouraging, uplifting talk.

The most recent topic was on getting rid of mental and emotional clutter, two things that if we don’t take control of them can vastly damage our lives. Previous talks have included tips on how to be a better listener (citing that less is more when it comes to conversation, and teaches about how we can connect with others if we listen); learning to forgive, and the burden and strain of acts weighing on our soul if we do not actually obtain the means to do so; being a ‘control freak’, and how our lack of control panics us unnecessarily; the importance and power of words, and why what we say affects others in ways we couldn’t even imagine, even those who are not directly related to the conversation; and a lesson on patience, the most important virtue a human being can have.

While the show does talk about religion and prayer, it is not strictly religious; rather it focuses on a wholesome approach in general to bettering your life and improving any situation you may seem to be ‘stuck in’. Other shows talk about negative thinking and how it impacts your life, being mired in a rut and not obtaining any sort of release, or determination and how having it can change our lives innumerable ways.

This show does not seem to have a set schedule and airs whenever the author feels like it, but she always gives a week’s advance as notice. She also has a website where you can find out more information about both the radio blog and positive living.

Kingdom Living Today

If you are of the Christian faith, you will want to tune into “Kingdom Living Today.” This talk show is aimed at helping sheep find their shepherd through a series of forgotten Biblical ideals and motivational passages. Your host “Apostle Diane Ross” will lead you through a calming half hour full of philosophic thoughts and highly introspective ideals. Callers will have the opportunity to reach Diane and share Christian concepts, discuss the Bible, and recall great Christian moments throughout time.

Some of Diane’s previous shows have included topics such as “Mid-Night Prayer Rambler” (a weekly segment), “Saturday Morning Early Addition” (weekly), and “Purpose” (which includes Biblical discussion). Listeners will hear a bit of gospel music throughout each segment, followed by a few words of wisdom from Diane. This host will give you spiritual courage and comfort surrounded by God’s word and thoughts from the Christian faith. Diane knows her biblical passages very well, and often relates modern day problems to various stories throughout the Bible. Diane not only acts as a host, but she also acts as a sort of psychological therapist for some very confused and frantic callers that happen to choose her in order to lead them out of trouble.

Diane is passionate about God and Christianity, and he radio show often reflects this fervor. She has been known to raise her voice with excitement and raise the spirits of callers who may have lost their way along the Christian path. This show is part of the Christian Ministry Network, which is focused upon supporting born again believers through workshops, outreach programs, and prayer. This is the perfect show to listen to if you are curious about Christianity, or if you simply have some personal issues that you need some help with. If you are out there lost, Diane is listening. Tune in to “Kingdom Living Today” weekly for your dose of prayer and faith.

True Outspeak

Who says that a modern day Socrates doesn’t exist? If you are looking to tune into a great political and philosophical mind, you will want to listen to “True Outspeak.” This show is hosted by non other than Olavo de Carvalho, a Brazilian philosopher that is known world wide for his differing views and opinions based on real life experiences.

Carvalho talks about the differences between humanity and collective authority, along with what the public can do to enhance the individual conscience. Carvalho uses ancient religions such as Taoism, Judaism, Christianity, and Islam in order to emphasize his belief the power of human intelligence. Carvalho discusses international politics in his native language of Portuguese throughout his show, but his works are often translated on his website.

Not only is this man a radio host, he has also written many books, text, political papers, academic theses, conducted interviews, and taught courses at local Universities. Carvalho argues that American politics cannot possibly understand the full extent that the state of Brazil and its politics are in – therefore Carvalho is very critical towards American politicians.

This show is not for the politically weak of heart, but it is a great show to get any mind reeling. Carvalho has completely opened up his arguments to any form of discussion or attack, and fans can reach him on his show or via email. For an hour that is truly full of great thoughts, ideas, and opinions, tune in to ‘True Outspeak’ – or forever hold your peace.
