Lionus LIVE & Unleashed

Ok, I’ll admit, when I first happened upon this radio show I was intrigued by the show’s mascot (a big fuzzy dog), but when I started to read the show profile I became convinced that Lionus LIVE & Unleashed was worth a listen.

Lionus Lavida is a resident of Malibu, California, with a funny take on progressive politics. Lionus’ perspective on politics is “a seriously comedic examination of why ‘Mom, Apple Pie & Chevrolet’ are all packed in a box and on their way to the Museum of Remember when?” This seems to sum up the show to perfection. Lionus’ audience will hear current issues discussed, political leaders ridiculed, and the overall world of politics highly criticized.

Lionus has many connections throughout the political world, which makes his show particularly interesting to listen to. As he talks about personal conversations he has had with great political leaders and public figures, listeners will laugh along with him as he calls each target of his show by their first name, and proceeds to hold a monologue based no his findings.

This comedic session lasts one hour per week and is usually screen on Monday nights around 7 pm (West Coast time). Lionus welcomes callers that offer additional political commentary, or simply want to share a few laughs. Lionus also has a producer hidden somewhere in his studio, and her laughter can be heard throughout the show, which makes the show multi-dimensional and a roaring good time. Lionus has many listeners, and his “call-in” board tends to light up rather quickly, so if you want to get in on the political action tune in on time and start dialing when the show beings. If you can’t get enough of political commentary and you love to laugh at the entire political world as a whole, tune in to Lionus LIVE & Unleashed.

The Redneck Show

A man that could possibly be hailed as “the internet Howard Stern,” has decided to erect a radio show that just begs to be controversial --- and guess what? Listeners love it. Your host, “Mr. Whoopass,” will explore all those embarrassing sexual topics, as well as anything that would make most people’s cheeks flush rosy at the mere mention of the topics that he chooses to explore each week. In fact, this host doesn’t choose most of the shows that he broadcasts, he leaves that up to the many, many, viewers who are regular listeners and callers. In short, this show simply aims to have a good time.

Now that I’ve piqued your interested, what can you expect to hear on “The Redneck Show?” Well, anything from types of string bikini’s to the best way to cook “beer can turkey.” Mr Whoopass brags that his is “The Home of the Nets Number One Interactive Radio Show,” and surprisingly, he has a lot of fans. Listeners of this show can easily access the host’s own website www.redneckshow.com in order to sign up for a free membership, post on your own “chat box,” play arcade games such as PacMan, and chat with fellow Redneck members. If you embarrass easily, this show is not for you.

But, if you are looking for a good way to unwind and have a few laughs over the internet, this may be just the radio show you are seeking. If you do decided to tune in, you certainly won’t be alone – this show has thousands of listeners world wide (watch out – some of them have webcams!). The Redneck Show also has monthly guests (this month it is country music star Cody McCarver). When it starts to be redneck time, you’ll never know just what you might find.

Media Lizzy

If you are seeking placid, politically correct coverage of the upcoming presidential campaign, or anything politically charged, the Media Lizzy Show is not for you. However, if you would like to explore the world of politics in an uncensored fashion, tune in to the Media Lizzy radio show in order to hear about the world of politics from a host who is really – “just a girl.”

Media Lizzy (Lizzy Blackney) may seem sweet and innocent, but that is just one of her many ploys. This former political party and candidate mouthpiece has turned to radio to voice her true opinion about all things political. Some of Media Lizzy’s latest show have included subjects such as “The First Mistress, the First Lady & the Presidential ‘sex’ factor,” “America’s moral authority over human rights and other issues,” and “The most provocative 15 minutes of breaking political news and opinion.” In fact, all of Lizzy’s topic seem to have a sexually charged theme including the weekly “political quickie,” but mixing up sex and politics is just the type of thing that Media Lizzy is bound to do, so listen attentively, you never know what you may hear.

Though she has often been described as “provocative,” perhaps “contentious” is a better word. Although Lizzy sets out to voice her own opinion, she often incites heated arguments and strong debates based upon her own words. Her latest commentary consisted of an observation made on Barak Obama’s behalf, which included the words “big boy pants,” or – in Lizzy’s opinion – the lack thereof in Obama’s case. Smart, sassy, and intuitive her show is a must for any fan of the political world – whether you agree with her or not.

The Christian Comedy Show

Host Tom Padovano has been performing stand-up comedy and writing comedic material used by such funny people as Phyllis Diller, Rodney Dangerfield, and Joan Rivers for almost 30 years now. He has also appeared on a number of cable comedy shows as well as writing humorous stories for publications as diverse as Beckett’s Baseball Card Monthly and Cracked Magazine.

According to one of his contemporaries, he is “so funny that you will laugh until you stop”, which accounts for his longevity in a business where a lot of talent disappears from the scene nearly as quickly as a Tonight Show monologue. Which, by the way, Tom has written many jokes for as well over the years. He claims to have met backstage with Joan Rivers at the Tonight Show three times, even once with her consent!

Padovano swims against the current trends in stand-up comedy by keeping his act free of profanity and he finds a way to make the audience laugh with his offbeat take on current issues, including cell phone ring tones, as well as getting a great deal of his best material directly from the Bible. His self-depreciating style is energetic, positive, and is easy for most people to relate to. And, since his style is not “preachy” he is able to connect with Christians and non-believers alike to share a good laugh or two.

In addition to his weekly Radio Blog he keeps himself busy, and his wits sharp, with a hectic schedule of live appearances in comedy clubs, churches, and even local YMCAs in and around his native New York City.

The Rocky Mountain Ride

"The Rocky Mountain Ride" is really four radio shows in one. Aaron DeLay, the host and creator, does four one-hour programs each week, offering a little something for everyone.

The title show runs Thursdays at 10 p.m. EST and is all comedy, featuring celebrity news and "The Hated List," which ranks the most hated things of the week. Repeat offenders on the list include Paris Hilton, Drunkenness, and the Anna Nicole Conspiracy. And if all else fails, the co-host Trickster is always around to keep things interesting.

Aaron returns Friday nights at 10 p.m. EST with "A deLayed Reaction," a weekly rundown of news and opinion, tackling some of the serious issues facing society today. Recent topics include the blogosphere, hate crimes, and the deteriorating values of the Hollywood culture.

Saturday nights at 10 p.m. EST is "The Rocky Mountain Political Ride." Along with co-host Scott the Man, Aaron delves deep into the political happenings, analyzing the topics confronting the United States and the world at large. Regular discussions involve the Middle East turmoil, the continuing political divide in America, and the upcoming presidential election.

The broadcasting week concludes on Sunday at 10 p.m. EST with "The Rocky Mountain Religious Ride." Aaron and Scott take a look at religion and its place in the world. While the show comes from a definite Christian point of view, all faiths are welcome.

Whether you're searching for humor, current events, political news, or even a little faith-based entertainment and talk, Aaron DeLay and "The Rocky Mountain Ride" fits the bill.

Laughing Through the Veil

Aren’t dead people funny? Psychic Boy and Witchy Woman think so. Their radio show, “Laughing Through the Veil,” is one of the funniest and most controversial shows on the air. What else could you expect from the “Dynamic Duo” of metaphysical comedy?

The show is made up of Martin “Psychic Boy” and his wife Connie “Witchy Woman.” Martin is obviously the psychic half of the team, and has a flair for writing music about his work with a touch of comedy. He was born in Ireland and still maintains a close tether to his Celtic roots. He is world-renowned as a medium, and lives with Connie in Sarasota, Florida.

Connie is a woman of many talents. Her repertoire as a metaphysical stand-up comedienne is well-known in both the United States and the United Kingdom, and every year she organizes and hosts the Witches Ball for Halloween in Sarasota. Connie turned to comedy to deal with her troubled childhood in an abusive family. Together with her husband, they’ve traveled far and wide to bring comedic healing to the world through their metaphysical comedy show.

Laughing Through the Veil airs Wednesdays at 9 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. Shows include topics such as dealing with death through comedy, talking about relationships, and even a little bit of astrology. The best way to experience Laughing Through the Veil, though, is to call in and participate in the fun.
