Heading Right Radio

Leftist notions got you down? Are you tired of discussing abortion laws and homosexual rights? Well, Ed Morrissey (“Captain Ed”) has got you covered. The “Heading Right Radio” show is all about discussing current political events with a conservative twist.

Host Morrissey makes it his business to talk about governmental policies that otherwise go unmentioned. Former shows have focused upon Osama Bin Laden, Childhood Education, Iran, Norman Hsu, and many other pulse racing topics. Morrissey has a knack for seeking out and bringing well known guests to his radio show in order to talk shop – well, politics anyway. Previous guests have included Duncan Hunter, John McCain, Mike Huckabee, Howard Kurtz and many others.

Listeners are invited to call into Morrissey’s radio show and ask any question that is based upon a current political topic. Although Morrissey tends to favor the conservative viewpoint, he will gladly listen to any liberal appeal – but be prepared with a quick comeback. Morrissey has many followers, so the lines may be busy for a bit, and if you can’t get through while the show is on air, you can always post a note on his blog at www.captainsquartersblog.com. Morrissey makes it a point to talk about various blog posts on his website, and some active bloggers will have the chance to speak on his show throughout the year.

The “Heading Right Radio” show is available for anyone to hear every weekday from 2-3 pm central time, so tune in, voice your opinion, and challenge Morrissey to back up his political beliefs – you’ll be in for one crazy afternoon!

Jay Kolo of “Morning’s Remorse”

Sometimes the most important topics are not the easiest. Jay Kolo of BlogTalkRadio’s “Morning’s Remorse” knows this firsthand, but he doesn’t let the severity of the issue get in the way of delivering his message to the world: sobriety is the most important aspect of living a life worthy of the love of God.

Eleven years ago, Kolo was homeless and an alcoholic. Since then, he has taken those eleven years and dedicated them to inspiring other people to get sober and take control of their lives with the help of Jesus Christ. He has made himself an example to others of how everyone can change their lives if they put their minds to it.

Kolo has written four books, and two more and due out this year. The first, Terminal Game, centered around a man who realizes how much he’s messed up his life while in the middle of an airport terminal. He finds the Lord and comes to the realization that he needs to fix things. Knee Deep in Prayer is a Chicken Soup-style collection of short stories and poems that are meant to inspire those attempting to find sobriety. Knee Deep II (Stages of Destruction) was released a year after the first, and is a collection of original poetry by Kolo that shows every facet of what addiction can do to your mind, body, and soul.

The two books due out later this year are Corporate Tears and Moving Iron, both novels about middle-aged people dealing with their vices and realizing God’s presence in their lives.

Army Wife Talk Radio

Army Wife Talk Radio on BlogTalkRadio is making waves throughout the listener base. The weekly one-hour show is produced by Tara Crooks and deals with the issues military wives face every day.

Crooks is a freelance writer and “military mom expert” who has been successful in personal business ventures as well as in raising her children. She started Army Wife Talk Radio in March of 2005 after being inspired by Kelly McCausey’s “Shoestring Radio.” Crooks, who recently celebrated her ten-year anniversary with her husband, prides herself on being able to motivate and educate people in their everyday lives.

Army Wife Talk Radio exists as a support group for all military wives. The show covers a multitude of topics surrounding family life, coping, and parenting. Most of all, it helps other military wives through stressful times and reminds them just how much of a sacrifice they and their husbands are making. It reminds them that love prevails even over hardship.

There are other contributors to Army Wife Talk Radio besides Crooks. Star Henderson, who is in charge of the online newsletter, has degrees in both Scientific and Technical Writing, as well as a masters in Professional Counseling, which she hopes to use to counsel military families. Sheryl Kurland is the marriage counselor on the show, having written a book about what makes relationships work. Her experience came from a massive project of interviewing couples who have been married for more than fifty years. Dr. Karen DeBord is the parenting expert, having graduated from Virginia Tech with a Bachelor of Science and Ph. D. in Family and Child Development.
