The Bearing Drift

In nautical terms, a bearing drift describes the location of an approaching object in relation to the ship. Once the ship's bearing, or direction, is determined, the object in question is observed to detect any drift to the left or right. If there is no drift, the two will collide unless the appropriate action is taken. In most cases, this means the ship must bear to the right.

The "Bearing Drift" believes a similar course of action would benefit the United States, with a political move to the right solving most of the country's problems. The weekly half-hour broadcast, which airs every Sunday at 7PM EST, will deliver the best information, opinion, and news from the Virginia political scene.

Host Jim Hoeft, the administrator of the bearingdrift.com blog, is a proud member of the Republican party and a veteran of numerous political campaigns in Hampton Roads, Virginia. He's also served on the Executive Committee of the Republican Party of Chesapeake as well as the Central Committee of the Republican Party of Virginia.

The show has given attention to the Virginia primary debates, covering Tricia Stall versus Sen. Marty Williams in the 1st Senate District and Carolyn Weems versus Chris Stolle for the 83rd House of Delegates in Virginia Beach. Jim has also landed interviews with other influential newsmakers like former U.S. Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich, Attorney General Bob McDonnell, Senator George Allen, and Lieutenant Governor Bill Bolling.

If it's happening in Virginia politics, you'll hear it on "Bearing Drift."
